Anne de Harlez, née en Belgique, réside aujourd'hui à Ibiza (Espagne) où elle a son atelier. Formée à l'architecture et à la sculpture, elle expose régulièrement son travail depuis 1998 tant en galeries que dans les lieux institutionnels à travers l'Europe et pour la première fois cet hiver, à New-york.

Anne de Harlez, born in Belgium , currently lives and works in Ibiza (Spain). Graduated in architecture and sculpture, she exhibits regularly her work since 1998 in galleries and institutional spaces throughout Europe and for the first time last winter, in New-York.

Anne de Harlez nacida en Bélgica, vive actualmente en Ibiza (España) donde esta támbien su taller. Educada en arquitectura y escultura expone su trabajo con regularidad desde hace 1998 en galerías tal como en espacios institucionales a través de Europa y por primera vez el invierno pasado, en Nueva-York.

Artist statement

"My work questions the connotations of feminine/masculine, the perception of time, the part of nature that we are – and the nature which is around us. I create ongoing series of curved, egg-shaped forms. I use materials that are as fragile as the posidonia seagrass or as strong as bronze. Sizes range from small to monumental – and are for intimate spaces or large pubic spaces. Regardless of the scale, my explorations are a continuing search for the heart of the female soul."
